North Pole Aquatic Club was
founded over 20 years ago in North Pole, Alaska. NPAC is organized
to promote good sportsmanship & self confidence, while
improving swimming skills. NPAC provides the young people of North
Pole an opportunity to compete individually & as part of a team
at local, state & national swimming competitions.
NPAC believes that swimming is a fun and healthy sport.
Our goal is to provide a competitive swim team where young swimmers
can learn self-discipline & gain self-confidence by developing
their swimming skills & physical conditioning. By learning to
work together as part of a team, swimmers build friendships and
enjoy the satisfaction that comes with
achievement.
We offer practices Monday through Saturday and
participate in many meets throughout the calendar year. We place an
emphasis on learning swimming skills and physical conditioning. We
also challenge swimmers to improve their skills by competing
against others in their age group at local, state and national
levels.
The club is a non
profit [501(c)3], private swimming club. General membership
consists of parents & guardians of NPAC swimmers, coaches,
& interested community members. The general membership meets
quarterly. They elect a board of directors (BOD) to oversee the
operation of the swim program.
The BOD hires the coaching staff & works with them to
provide a quality program for our children. The BOD & the
coaching staff manage day-to-day activities of NPAC, but support
from all of the parents is required for fundraising projects and
swim meets/functions.
The BOD meets monthly. All members are welcome to attend these
meetings in order to provide input.
